Why Your Nervous System Matters More Than Your Spiritual Gifts
When people begin exploring spirituality, they often focus on developing intuition, connecting with Spirit or deepening their meditation practice.
These are all valuable pursuits.
But over the years, I’ve come to believe something even more fundamental supports them all.
A regulated nervous system.
Whether I’m teaching yoga, guiding meditation or working with mediumship students, I see the same pattern.
When we’re anxious, overwhelmed or constantly rushing, it’s much harder to hear the quieter parts of ourselves.
Our minds become busy.
Our breathing becomes shallow.
We begin searching instead of listening.
Many people assume they’re struggling to connect spiritually.
In reality, they’re often struggling to settle their nervous system.
Yoga has taught me that stillness cannot be forced.
It grows naturally when the body begins to feel safe.
The breath slows.
The shoulders soften.
The mind becomes less reactive.
This is often the space where intuition becomes clearer.
Not because we’ve tried harder.
Because we’ve stopped fighting ourselves.
The same applies in mediumship.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that communication with Spirit isn’t about striving.
It’s about allowing.
That doesn’t mean becoming passive.
It means creating the inner conditions where connection can unfold naturally.
The practices may look different.
Yoga.
Meditation.
Walking in nature.
Sitting in the power.
Mindful breathing.
But they’re all guiding us towards the same place.
Presence.
And presence is where genuine connection begins.
Whether that connection is with your own inner wisdom, with Spirit or simply with the life unfolding around you.

Whether you join me on the yoga mat, in a spiritual development group or for an evidential mediumship reading, my intention is always the same: to create a calm, grounded space where you can reconnect with yourself. From that place of presence, everything else begins to unfold naturally.
